    Rebecca Klein Scott and Keith Scott lead communication workshops and deliver keynotes for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to family owned businesses and everything in between along with business and public speaking and coaching. In this engaging session, TALLsmall dissects and debunks assumptions and moderates discussion on how to move beyond them. The course opens with an icebreaker that helps everyone to open up and engage in the kind of dialogue rarely heard at conferences. From there, we will pivot and address the challenges and scenarios brought up by the group.

    9:15 am - 10:45 am - Georgia Board of Court Reporting and Administrative Office of the Courts Update

    Presentation and Q&A on the recent changes in policy/rules that impact court reporting in the state of Georgia. Randi Strumlauf - Ms. Strumlauf currently serves on the Georgia Board of Court Reporting and has served as Vice Chair of the Georgia Court Reporters Training Council for two terms. In addition, she has extensive experience as an official court reporter in Gwinnett County Superior Court and as a freelance court reporter.

    10:45 am - 12:15 pm - Yoga for the Court Reporter - Mindy Searcey, Certified Yoga Instructor/Public Speaker

    Mindy will share her knowledge on how mindfulness practices can decrease your stress, increase awareness and lead to a better life at work and beyond.

    1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - The Art of Negotiation - TALLsmall Productions  

    In this interactive, role playing session, learn the art of compromise in settling differences, how to create the best possible outcomes for your position and to lower the odds of dispute. Everyone will leave with tips on what words and body language are most effective in closing a deal, how to answer difficult questions without becoming flustered, how to identify entry points for compromise and how to become a better listener.

    3:15 pm - 4:45 pm - From Freelancer to Firm Owner - Christine Phipps

    Christine Phipps is a Registered Professional Reporter, President of Phipps Reporting, Inc., and current Vice President of the National Court Reporters Association. She received her associate’s degree in court reporting from Broward State College. She started out as an official court reporter for the first two years of her career, and then spent the next 15 years working all over the world as a freelance court reporter. After building relationships all over the country, Christine opened her own court reporting and litigation support agency, Phipps Reporting.

    5:00 - 5:30 pm - Legislative Update - Brad Carver

    Presentation and Q&A on the recent changes in policy/rules that impact court reporting in the state of Georgia from a legislative perspective.

    5:45 pm - 7:45 pm - Where We Are and Where We're Going - NCRA and NVRA

    Christine Phipps is the Vice President of NCRA, has served as Chair of NCRA’s Technology and Freelance Committees. In addition to reporting, Christine is also an Eclipse Trainer.

    Brenda Schmelz is the Past President of the National Verbatim Reporters Association and will be discussing the future for Georgia court reporters and will provide information on the newest testing opportunities within NVRA.
